Teacher & Assistant Teacher Qualifications
Assistant Teacher and Teacher position must meet Minnesota Department of Human Services guidelines in both Education and Experience.
The Aide's main responsibility is assisting a classroom teacher in the general supervision and management of the children. No education or experience is necessary.
Teaching Career Opportunities
There are a variety of position available in the daycare setting. Most are aide, assistant and teacher qualifications. All positions at Hastings Child Development Center require that all employees providing "direct contact services" to children within a licensed program must have a Background Study completed through the Minnesota Department of Human Services which results in a completion status of "passed". We also require other trainings in which we can help you obtain including SUID, AHT and first aid and CPR.
Employees must have a warm and friendly personality, be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others, be able to relate well to children, families and employees, be able to take verbal direction from the lead teacher in the classroom as to the tasks that need to be done and be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with DHS and Hastings Child Development Center. All applicants must be at least 16 years of age or older. Staff members cannot be left alone until 18 years of age.
